Welcome to Cowell College Academic Advising. These Frosh Advising pages are designed to help orient new students to what we think are the most important advising topics in the first year. It is by no means a comprehensive list, just a place to start. Our primary goals for this first year are to help you:

• get oriented to UCSC and Cowell College: specifically, the college system and our role as your advisers
• start thinking about choosing a major if you haven't already, and get the classes you need to progress toward your degree
• become aware of the many academic support resources available to you, and to feel comfortable using them
• develop (or at least start thinking about) your long-term academic goals
• get familiar with using tools and resources on your student portal at myucsc.edu. Use this tutorial to learn more!
