Coming Out College Night 10/11/07

Every Cowellie is invited to the first Cowell College Night of the year! We'll be celebrating National Coming Out Day, 2007. Queer, straight, ally, other? Join everyone to celebrate the diversity within our own community. At 6 pm enjoy a sumptuous dinner of salmon with asian pesto and udon noodles, California sushi rolls, cornish game hen, arugula salad, roasted asparagus, mashed root vegetables, rainbow sherbert and vegan tofu cheesecake. At 6:45 experience storytelling and spoken word performance by local artist Lauren Crux. With razor sharp use of language and through the vehicle of telling stories, using autobiography, Lauren talks about the "drunken stupor" we call life-- the messiness, confusions, contradictions, struggles, and divine play.

To attend dinner:
The Cowell community is invited to the meal. Be on time as doors open at 6pm and close shortly after! The performance immediately follows dinner. To get dinner tickets:

  • Cowell students on a meal plan: will swipe their card at the door.
  • Cowell students without a meal plan can purchase subsidized tickets for $1 at the Cowell Programs Office (room 135) during open hours, in advance.
  • Faculty and staff: get your ticket in advance from the Cowell Provost Office (room 117).

To attend the performance only:
The campus community may attend the performance portion, for free. It begins around 6:45pm. Arrive at the Dining Hall at 6:40pm and when dinner is over the side entrance to the hall will be opened for guest access.
